What it is

What it is

SONARA is an experimental acoustic visualization system that combines LiDAR, augmented reality, and AI to simulate and visualize how sound waves travel, reflect, and dissipate through a room in real time. It models how wall materials, room geometry, and even people of different heights, body types, and clothing affect sound propagation, helping filmmakers identify the optimal recording position in any environment.

Why it exists

Why it exists

Bad audio ruined scenes I loved. I could see everything wrong with a shot, but never what was wrong with the sound.

So I started wondering: What if I could make the invisible visible?

The concept is being developed through room-scan experiments and early tests of acoustic visualization.
